Understanding "Jesus the Christ"

BY Spiritual Initiative

"There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the creator, made known through Jesus." - Blaise Pascal

Around 2000 years ago, a master teacher and reformer walked the earth and blessed all those who came along the way. He taught the world the most powerful weapon to rule the world - Love. He declared, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

This teacher was Jesus Christ, who spread the message of his benevolent father- God. He lived what he taught; he was the personification of righteousness, compassion and faith.

As history documents, Jesus of Nazareth was born sometime between 7 and 2 BC. He was the son of the Holy Spirit and born to Mary, the Holy Virgin mother. He was pious, uneducated, poor and a carpenter by profession who miraculously empowered the marginalised, poor and dispossessed people against the most powerful empire in the world. He performed miracles and healed the sick.

His belief that he was the son of God enabled him to perform miracles because he understood the natural laws of the universe and was able to channelize divine love to heal people. He emphasized that all of us are the children of God just as he was and the kingdom of heaven is within. Meditation and prayer was his tool to gain strength to address the social concerns of his time.

Jesus was bestowed with the title "Christ" which is the Greek equivalent of “Messiah,” Therefore, when we refer to Jesus the Christ, it means "Jesus the Messiah," or "Jesus the anointed". Anointed means “united with one” elucidates the awakening level of man called Jesus. Similarly, the Christ refers to a man who was unified with God and channelized supreme energy.

When Jesus said - ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me', it meant that through his consciousness one could find their creator. He was the direct manifestation of Oneness from the Divine energy with a mortal existence. He proved to us that each one of us is a spiritual being and can experience this oneness.

His path is open to anyone irrespective of their religious faiths; they are usually people who are open to becoming living paragons of love and truth and they make a continuous effort to attain this state.Declaration in christian doctrine, such as, ‘Whosoever drinks from my mouth, shall become as I am’, ‘I too shall become like him, For him, the hidden will be revealed ’ (Thomas,108) are great reveletion of cosmic intelligence that whoever would become like persona called Jesus, pure medium, Christ consciousness would manifest in them and there would be no veil between them and truth. The “Jesus”, thus, refers to the human self and "Christ" refers to the light. Anybody can connect to Jesus if work to find light in self.
